Ho Chi Minh City has been chosen as the venue for a gala ceremony for the World Travel Awards for Asia and Oceania region scheduled to take place on September 7, according to the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT).
According to details given by Graham Cooke, founder and president of the World Travel Awards, the event will be held in the southern Vietnamese metropolis, as opposed to taking place in Dubai as previously planned.
The founder noted that he is keen to accelerate the reopening of the local tourism industry, as well as supporting the International Travel Expo Ho Chi Minh City – ITE HCMC 2022, which will also be held from September 8 to September 10.
On its website, the World Travel Awards describes Ho Chi Minh City as a metropolis of boundless energy which draws together both old and new aspects of the nation, thereby representing the city’s past as well as its future.
Furthermore, it also suggests that visitors should visit the southern city to wander through its various alleys and markets, explore temples, and discover its designer malls beneath soaring skyscrapers amid a fascinating fusion of different worlds.
World Travel Awards, which has been hailed as the “Oscars of the Travel Industry” by the Wall Street Journal, will celebrate the travel and tourism industry’s best practices by recognising the various achievements of travel and tourism brands.
