Vietnam ranked 13th in a list of the 20 most loved destinations in Asia thanks to its affordability, friendliness, amazing food and high visa acceptance rate, according to American financial website Insider Monkey.

The ranking was based on various metrics including respect, friendliness, diversity, democracy and the number of foreign tourists. “Vietnam attracts visitors from across the world for several reasons. It is affordable, has incredible scenery, and has some of the most amazing food you will ever have,” the website wrote.

Besides this, the country is highly welcoming and friendly towards foreigners and has a high visa acceptance rate. Vietnam welcomed over 12.6 million tourists last year, which was three times higher than in 2022.

Starting from August last year, Vietnam started granting three-month visas for citizens from all countries and territories while also extending visa-free stays to 45 days for major economies, including several European countries, Japan, and South Korea. Malaysia was named the most loved place in Asia, followed by Taiwan, Singapore, Japan and the United Arab Emirates.

Let’s discover why Vietnam is in the top 20 most popular destinations in Asia

A Blend of Natural Beauty and Rich Culture

Vietnam has secured its place as one of Asia’s 20 most loved destinations, and it’s easy to see why. The country offers a mesmerizing blend of natural beauty and rich cultural heritage. Whether you’re exploring the bustling streets of Hanoi, sailing through the emerald waters of Ha Long Bay, or trekking the terraced rice fields in Sapa, Vietnam never fails to captivate visitors with its diverse landscapes and vibrant traditions.

Exquisite Culinary Delights

Another reason behind Vietnam’s popularity is its exquisite culinary scene. Vietnamese cuisine is renowned for its fresh ingredients, bold flavors, and unique blend of herbs and spices. From the world-famous Pho to the delectable Banh Mi, every meal is an adventure for your taste buds. Street food vendors and high-end restaurants alike offer a wide array of dishes that reflect the country’s culinary diversity.

Warm and Welcoming People

What truly sets Vietnam apart is its warm and welcoming people. The Vietnamese are known for their hospitality and friendliness, making every traveler feel at home. Whether you’re navigating the local markets, joining a cooking class, or simply enjoying a cup of traditional Vietnamese coffee, you’ll find that the locals are eager to share their stories and culture with you.

Historical and Cultural Landmarks

Vietnam is also home to numerous historical and cultural landmarks that are a testament to its rich history. Sites like the ancient town of Hoi An, the Cu Chi Tunnels, and the Imperial City of Hue provide a glimpse into Vietnam’s past and its journey through time. These landmarks offer invaluable insights into the country’s traditions, struggles, and achievements.
